2008 - 2020 Average Home Prices in Chicago and the North Shore

Average home prices in Chicago and North Shore from 2008-2020

Average Home Prices for Detached Single Family Homes through the years since the 2008 housing crash and pandemic.

Chicago - Lincoln Park single family home prices have recovered while suburban values still struggle. It's amazing to see the decrease in average home price for some of these suburbs over the last 12 years.  While the early part of the pandemic saw values suffer, recently most North Shore towns have seen a boost in prices, especially in some of the further suburbs where larger lots are available. We are hopeful that suburban home prices continue to appreciate into 2021 and beyond. With interest rates expected to remain low through 2023 and low inventory in the suburbs, the path is clear for appreciation.
